Sher Shah Suri and his successors

Edward Garrett said:

Very few people have done as much in a short period of five years

That this worthy and dutiful man has done.

Babar bequeathed to his son Humayun:

These Afghans are not going to be offended by small things. No wonder this man will one day become a great man. Keeping a close eye on Sher Shah. He is a wise man and a king

Signs are visible on his forehead.

Introduction

The rise and fall of Sher Shah is important for a number of reasons. What height and what difficulties Babar left in Humayun's legacy, it also becomes clear that Humayun's ability to cope with the situation was completely lacking. He established such an administrative structure in a short span of five years. Set up Which could not be brought in its predecessor and imagination and from which the Mughal rulers who came to power after him also benefited immensely. The failure of Sher Shah's successors also clearly shows the political flaws of the Afghan character. And the lesson is that even the best kind of ruler is

They cannot guarantee that their successors will be worthy, nor can they make their successors possess the same qualities as themselves.

Homeland of Sher Shah

Sher Shah belonged to an Afghan family called Sur. When Sher Shah came to power, it was not long before his family came to India. Sher Khan's grandfather Ibrahim came to India during the reign of Sultan Bahlol Lodhi. He was given a jagir. After Ibrahim's death, Sher Shah's father Hassan Soor became the owner of this jagir.

Bahlol Lodhi's successor Sikandar Lodhi replaced Hassan Soor Marbi Jamal Khan with Napur. Jamal Khan also took Hassan with him and gave him a jagir consisting of the pargas of Saram, Hajipur and Tanda. Thus Sher Shah's father was a modest wanderer. Sher Shah became the king of the heart with his talent and ability. He became a shining star in the sky and went into the arms of the star like a meteor. She left behind a legacy that did not last long in the hands of her successors.

Early life of Sher Shah

Sher Shah's real name was Farid Khan. All dates are silent about his exact date of birth, but we historians estimate that he was born during the last fifteen years of the fifteenth century. Qanongo has declared 1446 as the birth of this Casson. Hassan Khan had eight pigs. Farid Khan and Nizam Khan were from the womb of his Afghan wife.

Hassan was under the influence of his youngest son Kanir. Disgusted by the stepmother's habitual abuse and the female disciple's cold-blooded father, Farid Khan stood out of the house to make his own fortune. When he reached Nagpur, he became very busy in Tehsil Alam. Since he was a prematurely grown boy, he did Bostan and so on. Memorize orally. He also studied philosophy books. A study of the biographies of the great conquerors and rulers of the past will take to heart the desire for worldliness and obedience. A few years later he came to Hassan Khan. Jamal Khan had already heard a lot about Farid's various qualities. He told Hassan Khan that Faridsur was the best member of the tribe. He assured Hassan Khan that if Farid was given a pargana, he could perform his duties well. Thus, a temporary reconciliation took place between the father and the son. Sasram and Khawaspur were given sugarcane to Farid. By arranging sugarcane for a short period of time, Farid Kofan got practical training. While living here, he became fully aware of the agricultural situation and felt the need for a reasonable system of livelihood. The basic principle of his administration can be described in his own words. He said to his father:

I will dedicate all my efforts to increase the prosperity of the region. And that America depends on a just administration. "

In this one attack, Farid expressed his views and methods on the government. It was aimed at the well-being of the people and the way to achieve it was nothing more than "justice or discipline." Prosperity of human beings

The well-being of the people means the well-being of the people. To acquaint the farmer with fair administration means to present to him a definite and concrete way of assessing and collecting the finances.

He called the farmers to the court. Explaining to them his system of land tenure, he reviewed all the conditions of a particular plot of land. It was measured and then a tax was fixed. According to the wishes of the farmer, it was also decided whether the tax would be paid in cash or in which the fee of the recipient and the land surveyor would be fixed. All these details have been confiscated.

He gave the address of the farmer's land. And he took the receipt for that page. Which was called acceptance. After doing so, he instructed his officers not to collect more than a penny from the farmers. He warned them that if anyone violated these instructions, he would be severely punished. Attacked officials and disobedient landlords who publicly explained the principles of their government. The rebels were killed and the women and children were sold into slavery. With this horrible punishment, everyone's consciousness came to rest. Under his supervision, in a short period of time, both of them became prosperous and free.

But due to the jealousy of his stepmother, Farid continued his benevolent discipline for a long time Could not keep He left his estate and became an employee of Ibrahim Lodhi. After the death of Ibrahim in the battle of Panipat, Farid went to Bihar and became an employee of Bihar Khan, the ruler of Bihar. He not only rose in the eyes of Bihar Khan but also killed a lion with a single blow of the sword. Pleased with Farid's bravery, Bihar Khan addressed him as "Sher Khan". After that Sher Khan went to Agra. Where he entered the company of Babar. Sher Khan benefited greatly from his association with Babar and his chiefs. He gained an insight into the Mughal style of warfare, their style of governing and the role of the Mughal chiefs. Sher Khan helped Babar in his campaigns against the Afghans. He was also present during the siege of Chanderi. It is said that one day during Babar's company, Sher Khan had said that if Hashmat agreed, one day I would drive the Mughals out of India. Babar had already seen the signs of the kingdom on the forehead of Jawas. Instructing a chief to keep a close eye on Sher Khan, it was Babar's turn to imprison him. Sher Khan sensed Babar's intention and fled from the Mughal court. He came to Bihar and became an employee of Sultan Mahmood, the Subedar there. When Sultan Mahmud died, the glory of his son was immature. Sher Khan became Jalal Ataliq in October 1532. When Jalal became an adult, he formed an alliance with the Subedar of Bengal to end Sher Khan's influence.
